“Perhaps He Had a More Important Engagement”: MP from the ruling party on Pashinyan’s Absence in Artsakh
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "Why didn’t Nikol Pashinyan visit Artsakh on the occasion of its 30th anniversary despite his three-day vacation? MP Hakob Aslanyan from the ruling Civil Contract party justified the Prime Minister, stating, 'Perhaps Nikol Pashinyan was feeling unwell, or perhaps he had a more important engagement. Don’t turn that into a flag and say that Pashinyan didn’t go for this reason.'"
He urged not to forget that in parliamentary governance countries, the legislative body is the highest authority, and a parliamentary delegation from Armenia has gone with the Speaker of the National Assembly at the helm. When we pointed out that it was not the Speaker but the Deputy Speaker who led the delegation, he attempted to convince us, 'I have seen photos of Alen Simonyan sitting there.' No, it was Ruben Rubinyan who led the delegation. 'The parliamentary delegation is already the highest authority,' the MP stated.
