VIDEO: We beg you, do something, we have lost everything. Kashatagh residents met with Minister Kerobyan
Residents of Kashatagh, displaced after the war and having lost their places of residence, are holding a protest near the government building. They demand that the government take appropriate actions to secure their housing.
One of the protesters told reporters that people lost their homes through deceit, being told "we are winning" and forcibly relocated within 15 minutes. "Wake up, enough is enough. You say no to velvet, but we see no end to it. We only see the form, not the content; it’s enough," she stated.
According to one of the citizens, the current government seems to act in the interests of Aliyev and Erdogan. He emphasized that the issue of Artsakh has not been resolved, nor does the government appear willing to resolve it. "It’s true that we all understand that when a person leaves their home and loses everything, they first think about their daily bread and the warmth of their children. But for us, the most pressing issue is not only to ask, but to demand international recognition of Artsakh's independence," he emphasized, noting that Armenians have nothing to give away, and we have nothing to give up in Artsakh.
He recounted that Armenians have never been brothers with Azerbaijanis and never will be. He shared a story from the Soviet era, when there were Turks in Artsakh, recalling that the principal of one of the schools in Stepanakert was a Turk. During that time, a second-grade Armenian boy was beaten and decapitated for being Armenian. "There was a trial, and the Turk was sentenced to a very short prison time. The Armenians banded together, snatched him from the courtroom, and killed him in the same way. The murderer, being Armenian, was not afraid and stood before the court. We have a spirit that will not bow down; let today’s government, which has taken the Turk's hand in both soul and form, be fearful of that. We demand by law that the independence of the Republic of Artsakh be recognized very soon," he concluded.
Following the government meeting, Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan met with the protesters.
