UAZ Rolls Down Ravine Near Berd City; Driver Dies on Scene
On September 1st, at 18:52, the National Crisis Management Center received an alert regarding a UAZ vehicle that had rolled down a ravine in the area known as "Khamot Ghash" near Berd city. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
A firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was found that a UAZ-469 vehicle (driver: A.A., born in 1970) had veered off the roadway along the Berd-Jambarak highway and rolled approximately 150 meters down a nearby ravine. The driver died on the spot, while a passenger, A.K. (born in 1975), was hospitalized in the Berd city's medical center.
The rescuers removed the driver's body from the ravine (approximately 50 meters) and brought it closer to the ambulance.
