25-Year-Old Moped Driver Who Collided with a Passenger Bus Dies at Astghik Medical Center

Today, September 2, a 25-year-old resident of Yerevan, Onik Svartyan, passed away in the intensive care unit of Astghik Medical Center. According to SHAMSHYAN.com, he was admitted to the hospital yesterday, September 1, following an accident that occurred at the intersection of Isakov Avenue and American Street, near the U.S. Embassy. He sustained injuries from a collision between his moped and a Higer brand bus driven by 66-year-old Abel Hovhannisyan, also a resident of Yerevan.

As a result of this incident, the police have initiated a criminal case under Article 242, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, following the decision of H. Stepanyan. The case has been transferred to the traffic crimes investigation unit of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Yerevan.

The Higer bus is part of route number 5.
