Emergency Situations Ministry Provides New Details on Bus Accident in Ararat Province
Today at 08:23 AM, the Ararat regional crisis management center received a report that an accident had occurred on the Mkhchyan-Biuravan highway, with injured individuals involved. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that a firefighting and rescue unit from the regional rescue department has been dispatched to the scene.
It has been revealed that a bus of the brand 'FAV' (driver S.G., born in 1959) servicing the Getazat-Yerevan route went off the roadway and collided with a tree. As a result of the accident, 16 injured individuals have been hospitalized at the Artashat Medical Center, 14 at Yerevan's Erebouni Medical Center, and one at the Masis Medical Center. Rescuers have disconnected the bus from the power supply and closed the gas cylinder valve, and subsequently rescued two trapped passengers from the bus. Previously, it was reported that 25 individuals had been hospitalized.
