Armenia Wins Overall Team Ranking at the International 'Peacekeeper' Competition
The closing ceremony of the 'Peacekeeper' international competition took place at the Monte Melqonian Military School as part of the 'International Army Games 2021' event. Armenia secured first place in the team ranking, with Russia coming in second and Belarus in third, according to Armenpress.
According to the source, Senior Lieutenant Haik Avagyan, representing the Armed Forces of Armenia, was recognized as the winner in the individual category of the 'Peacekeeper' competition.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Defense Arshak Karapetyan, Commander of the 3rd Army Corps Alexander Tsakanian, other senior military officials, and diplomatic representatives accredited in Armenia, particularly from the CSTO member countries and delegations from the participating states.
The 'Peacekeeper-2021' competition kicked off on August 22. Participants included representatives from the armed forces of Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Greece, and the State of Qatar.
The 'Peacekeeper' international competition, focusing on the military-professional skills of service members, is held as part of the 'International Army Games' under the decision of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS participant states and in line with bilateral cooperation plans between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the defense ministries of the CIS member states. For the fourth consecutive year, the 'Peacekeeper' competition is being held in the Republic of Armenia.
