Visit to Imprisoned MP and Doctor Armen Charents: He Was Not Depressed, Says Taguhi Tovmasyan
The chairperson of the National Assembly's Committee on Defense and Public Affairs, Taguhi Tovmasyan, has informed that she visited the imprisoned MP and former director of Izmirlian Medical Center, Armen Charents, with fellow MP Taron Margaryan. Charents has been in custody and his health reportedly worsened again, leading to his transfer to a civilian hospital.
“Armen Charents was not in the Vardashen penitentiary. His health had deteriorated, and he was moved to the Norq-Mardzh Medical Center. At the hospital, three uniformed young men were on guard near the doctor's room, while another was inside. However, the doctor was not depressed; he expressed serious concern about two issues: first, he was troubled by the current state of our country, with its threats and challenges, and he was also worried about his patients. ‘...I am concerned about those who need me...’ he candidly shared.
This statement comes from a man who was brought to the hospital with an acute pre-infarction condition, and doctors have been unable to stabilize his condition for five days. I sincerely hope that the professor will recover soon and, despite all the artificial obstacles created for him, will be able to reach out to his patients,” Tovmasyan posted on her Facebook page.
