Significant Changes Expected in Armenian-Georgian Relations as Pashinyan Heads to Georgia

On September 8, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will make an official visit to Georgia. This announcement was made by Pashinyan during a speech in the National Assembly where he presented the Government's 2021-2026 activity plan.

“I cannot fail to mention the personal contribution of Prime Minister Garibashvili in organizing the return of our 15 prisoners on June 12,” Pashinyan noted.

In an interview with the newspaper “Zhoghovurd,” Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze commented on the visit, stating, “Very serious prospects for cooperation in the field of transportation are opening up between Armenia and Georgia. The prospects for opening transportation communications between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea also seem no less interesting.”

It is noteworthy that the government program, which has already been approved by the parliament, specifically mentions Armenian-Georgian relations. It states that Armenia will continue to ensure the development of special and friendly relations, while improving communication links with Tbilisi is of strategic importance.

Armenia also intends to deepen ties in political, economic, communication, cultural, humanitarian, and tourism sectors, which is of vital importance for both countries,” the article states.
