Man Commits Suicide with Firearm Inside Vehicle on Artashat Highway: Details

On August 30, 2021, at 22:35, a call was received at the Shengavit Division of the Police of Armenia regarding a body found with a gunshot wound inside a parked "Mazda" vehicle in front of one of the houses on Artashat Highway in Yerevan.

Upon inspection of the scene, the body of a man born in 1984 was discovered inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the temple area. In his right hand, a "Walther P 22" type firearm was found, with one unfired bullet in the magazine.

Through preliminary measures, it was determined that the man had committed suicide with the firearm in his possession. A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department of the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan under Article 110, Part 1, and Article 235, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

During the preliminary investigation, several individuals were interviewed, and comprehensive forensic chemical, ballistic, and medical examinations were commissioned. The investigation is ongoing.
