Armed Robbery at Yerevan Mall: Thief who Stole Over 100 Million Drams Neutralized
An armed robbery occurred in Yerevan earlier today. An unknown individual entered a branch of one of the banks operating in the Yerevan Mall, located on Arshakuniats Avenue, wielding a gas pistol, and threatened staff while stealing a bundle of cash.
Security personnel, citizens, and police officers from the Shengavit division and patrol service of the Yerevan police risked their lives to neutralize the suspect, who has since been transferred to the Shengavit police station.
According to reports from the scene, the Deputy Chief of the Armenian Police, Colonel Aram Hovhannisyan, as well as Sevan Kocharyan, head of the Yerevan Police Department, and Arthur Zakaryan, Deputy Head of Operations, arrived at the location. The head of the criminal investigation department, Hovhannes Aristakesyan, was also present.
Preliminary information indicates that the stolen amount exceeds 100 million drams, although the final sum is still being confirmed.
Patrol units have been deployed in an enhanced service capacity in the area, securing the location.
