17 Firefighters Continue Firefighting Efforts in Kut, Gegharkunik Region: Ministry of Emergency Situations

On August 31, 17 firefighters and rescuers are conducting firefighting operations in the area of the village of Kut. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that on August 30, at 16:27, information was received by the Gegharkunik regional crisis management center that vegetation is burning in the village of Kut.

Emergency response groups and two firefighting brigades were dispatched to the scene. A reconnaissance was carried out, revealing that the fire is spreading in two directions: southeast and northeast. A total of 26 firefighters and rescuers participated in the firefighting efforts.

The southeast focal point of the fire was contained at 22:48 and extinguished at 23:18, with approximately 40 hectares of vegetation burned. About 20 hectares from the northeast section self-extinguished, while about 30 hectares are still burning on the mountain top, with a standby established.

Earlier, Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan announced that Azerbaijani armed forces are deliberately setting fire to the area of the village of Kut.
