Macron: The International Community Has Set Conditions for the Taliban

French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that the international community has set conditions for the Taliban. He made this announcement during an interview with TF1 television.

As the politician clarified, negotiating with the Taliban does not mean officially recognizing them. Macron explained that governments are forced to engage with the Taliban because the movement controls Kabul and the entire territory of Afghanistan. Therefore, in practical terms, it is necessary to negotiate with them.

The French president noted that conditions have been imposed on the Taliban. He listed the conditions for the official recognition of the Taliban. First and foremost, they relate to the protection of human rights. Additionally, the Taliban are required not to cooperate with terrorist groups in Afghanistan. According to Macron, the Taliban must respect the 'dignity of Afghan women.'
