Arshak Karapetyan Presents Situation at Armenia's Borders to the U.S. Ambassador
On August 30, Armenia's Minister of Defense Arshak Karapetyan met with the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, Lynne Tracy, accompanied by the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Mission William Laitenen and newly appointed military attaché, Colonel Gregory Pipes. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.
The Minister congratulated Mr. Laitenen and Colonel Pipes on taking up their posts in Armenia, wishing them new achievements in support of the development of Armenian-American cooperation.
In turn, the Ambassador congratulated Arshak Karapetyan on assuming the position of Minister of Defense, noting that this occurs during a rather difficult time for Armenia.
At the request of the U.S. Ambassador, the Minister presented the situation at Armenia's borders, highlighting the periodic provocations carried out by Azerbaijan.
Arshak Karapetyan reaffirmed the Armenian side's willingness to resolve issues through peaceful means, while emphasizing the determination to protect Armenia's borders and territorial integrity.
During the meeting, opportunities to give new momentum to Armenian-American cooperation in the defense sector were also discussed. Both sides expressed readiness to continue effective cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
