“The Authorities Buried the Satellite Program on August 26, 2020, Causing Nearly 5,000 Armenian Soldier Deaths.” Nairi Hohikyan
Journalist Nairi Hohikyan's statement. “On August 26, 2020, it became clear to me that we were destined to lose the war.
On that very day, the then Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan officially declared that we did not need a satellite, despite my numerous arguments and evidence to complete the project that began in 2012, and either purchase or lease the satellite.
The satellite would have allowed us to effectively combat the monitoring of enemy movements, positioning of positions, and most importantly, to counter the flights of 'Bayraktar' drones.
On January 26, 2021, Ilham Aliyev did not hide that their satellite played a huge role in the war by locating every step of the Armenian side.
However, our authorities buried the satellite program on this very day, August 26, 2020, leading to the deaths of nearly 5,000 Armenian soldiers.”
