Official Announcement: Goris-Kapan Interstate Road is Open, Says Syunik Deputy Governor

The Goris-Kapan interstate M2 road is open, as confirmed by the Deputy Governor of Syunik, Narek Babayan, on his Facebook page.

It is recalled that on August 25, starting from 11:00 PM, Azerbaijani armed forces closed the segment of the Goris-Kapan road near Shurnukh-Karmirakar, located approximately 10 km away from the village of Shurnukh, and have refused to reopen it. Negotiations were ongoing regarding the reopening of the road.

Additionally, the Office of the Human Rights Defender reported the day before that Azerbaijani military personnel had also blocked the road from Goris to Vorotan around noon.
