KARTES. "Does the Prime Minister know that these villages depend on the road blocked by Azerbaijanis?" - Nairi Hokhikyan

Journalist Nairi Hokhikyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Speaking about the closure of the Goris-Kapan road, the Prime Minister of Armenia said in the National Assembly that the Azerbaijanis are standing in the part of the map that belongs to them according to the Soviet Union. In other words, they have the right to block the road. At the same time, Nikol Pashinyan reassured the public by stating that there is an alternative road that connects to Kapan.

I understand that even in the case of a complete blockade, we will find some way to access both Kapan and Meghri, and then also make our way to Iran, but does the Prime Minister of Armenia know that the villages of Vorotan, Shurnukh, David Bek, Karmirakar, Artsvavanik, Kaghunut, Chapni, Sevakar, and Yeghteg depend on the road blocked by Azerbaijanis?

Does the Prime Minister know that the aforementioned settlements are located within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, are not at all colorless, are very beautiful places, and that Armenians live there?

Furthermore, if some of these villages become accessible with difficulty through the Tatev-Kapan road, then the villages of Vorotan and Shurnukh find themselves completely surrounded.

Is this your promised complete unblocking, or should we again give up territories based on the foolish principle that ‘the homeland must be sacrificed for the person’?

In such a spineless and anti-national conduct, the Armenian person cannot remain silent for long and swallow national shame. You are provoking a new war with your inaction.

Or perhaps the Azerbaijani authorities hold facts that terrify you?”
