Azerbaijanis Dig Trenches Near Goris-Kapan Road: What Do Syuni Residents Say?

Azerbaijani soldiers have dug trenches in certain sections of the Goris-Kapan highway located in southern Armenia. Residents of the border village of Vorotan in Syunik informed Sputnik Armenia's correspondent about this.

According to them, over the past two weeks, Azerbaijani troops have excavated trenches on both sides of the Goris-Vorotan section under their control, and in the areas where excavation has taken place, the number of tents and structures has increased.

Additionally, according to some reports, Azerbaijanis are amassing military forces just a few kilometers away from the village (recently at an accelerated pace).

In a conversation with the correspondent, the residents of Vorotan expressed dissatisfaction that they lack weapons for self-defense. The villagers fear diversions from the enemy. They do not rule out the possibility that the Azerbaijanis have closed off the road to force villagers to leave, after which they would seize the village.

Moreover, a significant number of villagers work in cities, and the roads connecting to them are now closed. Most of the teachers in the local school come from Goris, and if the situation regarding the road is not resolved before the school year starts, the village school will remain without teachers.
