Nikol Pashinyan Reveals New Data from the National Assembly Podium

As of now, the number of casualties in the 44-day war is 3,777, while the number of persons listed as missing is 243. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the National Assembly.

It should be noted that while presenting the government program in the parliament, the Prime Minister had disclosed these figures; however, opposition MPs pointed out that the Deputy Chief of the General Staff had provided a different number during a meeting with parliamentary factions, which does not correspond to the figures presented by the Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan acknowledged that he is aware the Deputy Chief presented different figures during the meetings with factions. He stated, “We cannot have any intent to hide any number. There has been a change in the number I provided today, because DNA identifications have occurred during this time. If the Deputy Chief of the General Staff provided a different number, let him come and report to me in writing his stated figure and substantiate it. I am publishing the numbers that are confirmed by death certificates. As of now, we have 3,777 deaths, of which 3,702 are military personnel and 75 are civilians. The number of persons whose whereabouts are unknown is 243,” emphasized Nikol Pashinyan.
