Negotiations to Open the Road Are Not Currently Ongoing, Says Kapan Mayor

The Goris-Kapan road, which has been closed since last night, is currently not under negotiations for reopening. This was stated by Kapan Mayor Gevorg Parsyan in an interview with NEWS.am.

“Negotiations are not ongoing at this moment, but they are expected to take place today,” he noted.

According to the mayor, the Tatvan-Kapan dirt road is being used to travel from Kapan to Goris, although certain sections are under construction. He mentioned that the work is planned to be completed by the end of the year.

It is noteworthy that Azerbaijanis closed the road at 11:00 PM the previous night and are refusing to reopen it. Overnight, about forty vehicles were evacuated from the road.
