The Government Has Made Changes to Its Approved Program: What Changes Have Been Made?

The government of Armenia has made amendments to its operational program after its approval. This information comes from the official page of the Government of Armenia.

The changes were made on August 22, during a written voting procedure held on a Sunday.

Amendments were made to the "Defense Sector: Armed Forces Reforms" appendix of the government’s 2021-2026 activity program, pertaining to the investigation of the circumstances surrounding the 44-day Artsakh War.

"The government emphasizes the importance of uncovering all circumstances of the 44-day war of 2020 and will take effective steps to conduct a comprehensive and detailed investigation," states the newly added section of the government program.

It should be noted that previously, the government's approved program only mentioned that the reform strategy for the Armenian Armed Forces should be based on lessons learned from the 44-day war. The initial version of the government’s operational program did not include plans for an investigation and unveiling of the circumstances of the war.

The program has already been submitted for discussion and approval in the parliament. It is expected to be discussed at a session convened on August 24 at 10:00 AM.
