Turkey Does Not Intend to Become an 'Depot' for Refugees in Europe: Erdogan

Turkey does not intend to fulfill the role of a 'depot' for migrants for Europe, claiming Ankara has no such obligations, responsibilities, or commitments. This was reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu, as covered by Armenpress.

The President of Turkey also addressed the current situation in Afghanistan. He stated that Turkey is prepared to communicate with the government formed by the Taliban if necessary, as Ankara's main goal is the stability and security of Afghanistan.

Erdogan noted that there are up to 5,000 Turkish citizens currently living in Afghanistan, and about 500 of them, along with 83 foreign citizens, have requested to return to Turkey.

“We will relocate our citizens who are still waiting to return to their homeland in the short term. Their number is less than 300,” Erdogan added.
