Three-Month Military Gatherings Begin on August 25; Avoiding Them Will Result in Legal Consequences - Ministry of Defense

According to Article 58, Part 2 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia on "Military Service and Status of Military Personnel" and Article 28, Part 1 of the Law on "Defense," the Government decision No. 1356-N dated August 18, 2021, announced three-month military gatherings for reserve personnel. These gatherings will take place from August 25 to November 25, 2021, for first-class, first group, registered reserve recruits, sergeants, and officers.

As needed, participants in the gatherings will also be engaged in combat duty, as reported by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

To ensure the gatherings, up to 110 transportation vehicles will be engaged from the bodies responsible for military transport obligations for a period of three months.

Throughout the duration of the gatherings, citizens will be considered military personnel, enjoying all benefits and social privileges granted to military personnel. Their civilian jobs will be preserved, and they will receive compensation for each month of the gatherings according to the official salary scale designated for their military rank and several other factors.

Participation in the gatherings will be included, as per the calendar calculation, in the citizen’s total military service or work experience.

Avoiding participation in the gatherings will lead to legal consequences.
