Significant Activation Observed in Various Economic Sectors Post-Elections: Kerobyan

The economy feels very vibrant; we see how economic growth demonstrates that we are in an active phase of recovery every month. It can even be said that the recovery phase is already in the past,” announced Vahan Kerobyan, Armenia's Minister of Economy, during a broadcast on Public Television, assuring that “the figures are also very good” in agriculture and exports, with agricultural product export figures approaching those of the entire year of 2020.

“I believe that by the end of the year, we will exceed last year’s figures by at least 30-40 percent. In short, especially after the elections, significant activation is felt in various sectors of the economy, and I believe that we are on the right track,” Kerobyan stated.

It is noteworthy that after presenting these figures, the Minister of Economy also highlighted the challenges and issues facing the economy, including war, COVID, decline in competitiveness, and lack of productivity. He reassured that these issues are included in the government’s program and, according to the authorities' pre-election promise, solutions must be found.

Kerobyan also promised new investments, this time attributing the overcoming of challenges to the goodwill of potential investors. “Over the past nine months since the war, there has been a very significant increase in interest from the Armenian diaspora and domestic investors. People who would have never wanted to hear about Armenia are now rushing to the country to do something to help restore the defense capability, security, and economic strength of their homeland, because it is clear to everyone that if each person does not participate, we may not have the strength needed to confront the challenges that exist today,” he said.
