Zelensky Discusses the Need for Meeting with Putin Again
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the issue of the release of Ukrainian prisoners held in Russia has hit a deadlock. According to him, the only way out may be a meeting with Vladimir Putin.
“Unfortunately, this issue is at a standstill. As of today, apart from direct negotiations with the President of the Russian Federation, I do not see any other way to resolve the issue of prisoners. It is possible that we will be able to make new decisions within the framework of the 'Crimea Platform',” Zelensky said in an interview with Ukrainian journalists.
He also noted that the issue concerning prisoners is raised by all leaders during meetings in various formats. The Ukrainian leader has called on the heads of countries that support Kyiv on the Crimea issue to exert pressure on Russia, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We are ready for exchanges and various other measures to bring our citizens back,” Zelensky stated.
It is to be recalled that this concerns hundreds of Ukrainian political prisoners who were arrested in the territory of Crimea during unrest.
