Search for the Son of Former Gyumri Mayor

According to Aravot.am, an incident occurred the day before involving former Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan and his son. This time, the incident is related to a threat made against one of the police inspectors carrying out his official duties.

According to documents prepared at the police station, former Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan participated in the incident, which took place between 23:00 and 23:15, when he visited a house on Hakobyan Street in Gyumri with 3-4 men. He knocked on the gate, entered the yard, and confronted the elderly resident, saying, “There is a ‘dirty’ inspector living in this house who has written something against me; I need to see him.”

Following the incident, police officials visited the residence of Vardan Ghukasyan on August 18 at 00:35 for clarification, based on a complaint received. However, Vardan Ghukasyan’s son, Spartak Ghukasyan, responded from the second-floor window, stating that he did not wish to open the door as it was late.

Later that day, at 12:59, Spartak Ghukasyan called the inspector who had visited their home and aggressively accused him of coming to their house, threatening him with murder.

A criminal case has been opened at the Shirak Region Investigative Department under Article 316, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to the use of violence against a representative of authority. Measures are being taken to locate Spartak Ghukasyan.
