Russian Peacekeepers Provide Drinking Water to Over 200 Families in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Russian peacekeeping forces have supplied drinking water to more than 200 families in Stepanakert and various regions of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD).

It was noted that in the last two days, the logistical support units of the peacekeeping forces have delivered about 15 tons of drinking water to residents of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Until the completion of the renovation and restoration works at the water supply station, as well as the construction of pipelines in the regions and towns of Nagorno-Karabakh, the peacekeepers will provide local residents with water every day.

“The command of the Russian peacekeeping forces has decided to supply drinking water to the local population at the request of the self-government body in Stepanakert. A daily water supply schedule has been established. As of today, about 10 tons of drinking water have been provided to the local population,” said Vladislav Demkin, a representative of the peacekeeping forces.

The peacekeepers are also ensuring safety during the installation of the pipeline for the water supply from artesian wells in the Martuni region, which will deliver water to the residents of the Taghavard and Red Market settlements.

It should be noted that on November 9, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan reached an agreement regarding the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. A statement was signed which stipulates that Azerbaijan will receive seven regions of Artsakh, as well as Shushi and Hadrut, except for one village and villages from the Askeran and Martuni regions, as well as the villages of Talish and Mataghis from the Martakert region.
