Meeting of the Public Council Adjacent to the Minister of Defense Held

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia reports: “The results of the working group on the examination of citizen applications and complaints during the 2021 summer conscription have been summarized, and the upcoming tasks of the council have been discussed.”

The effectiveness of the appeal process conducted through the commission has been registered. The commission received 133 applications and complaints, with 76 addressed, contributing to their fair resolution. 23 conscripts have obtained legal grounds for deferral, of which 22 are due to health issues, and 1 due to family circumstances. Additionally, 3 individuals have been recognized as unfit for military service and have been registered in the reserve.

Furthermore, the conscription matters for 27 individuals have been suspended and will be determined in the next conscription period, based on the necessity for additional and confirmatory medical examinations.

While discussing the upcoming tasks of the public council, it was decided to clarify and present to the Minister of Defense, within two weeks, the directions and issues of defense policy that the public council should focus on to contribute to the reforms of the Armed Forces.
