23 Conscripts Obtain Legal Grounds for Exemption, Ministry of Defense Reports

23 conscripts have obtained legal grounds for exemption, of which 22 are due to health conditions, and 1 due to family circumstances. Additionally, 3 have been deemed unfit for military service and registered in the reserve, while the conscription status of 27 others has been suspended and will be determined in the next conscription cycle as additional and verification medical examinations are required.

On August 18, a regular meeting of the Public Council under the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia was held. The results of the discussions on citizens' applications and complaints during the summer conscription of 2021 were summarized, and the upcoming actions of the council were discussed. The effectiveness of the appeal process conducted through the commission was noted.

The commission received 133 applications and complaints, of which 76 were processed, contributing to their fair resolution. 23 conscripts have obtained legal grounds for exemption, with 22 due to health conditions, and 1 due to family circumstances. Furthermore, the conscription status of 27 conscripts has been suspended and will be decided in the next conscription based on the need for additional and verification medical examinations.

While discussing the upcoming tasks of the Public Council, it was decided to specify and present to the Minister of Defense within two weeks the directions and issues of defense policy that require the council's efforts to promote the reforms in the Armed Forces.
