We Need to Assess Clearly with Specific Indicators Where We Stand in the Digitalization Agenda Process

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a meeting of the Digitalization Council took place today. The head of the digitalization expert group, Suren Krmoyan, presented the work carried out during the council's two years of activity. Approximately 25 program and strategic documents were discussed.

Continuous work is being done on various aspects of digital identification, verification systems for official document authenticity, electronic licenses, personal and public notifications, electronic justice unified systems, and several other directions of the digital agenda. The business processes of 101 services have been reviewed and improved. A pilot system for ensuring feedback from citizens has been launched in several state bodies.

According to Krmoyan, due to Covid-19, there has been a significant increase in the level of electronic service usage.

A fruitful exchange of ideas took place regarding the topic, discussing upcoming actions. Issues related to the implementation of a unified policy for public service delivery, simplification of business processes, ensuring interoperability of electronic systems and platforms, the tangibility of the level of digitalization, and the importance of public awareness were addressed.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the work accomplished but also stressed the need to analyze the dynamics of the digital agenda's implementation, assess interim results, and outline further actions for the development of the sector. “We need to assess clearly with specific indicators where we stand in the implementation process of the digitalization agenda, what level of digitalization we have, and in what direction we will continue,” said Nikol Pashinyan. The Prime Minister instructed responsible officials to present a statistical analysis that will allow for an evaluation of the effectiveness of the current digital services.
