Detection and Confirmation of New Coronavirus Strains Worsens the Situation: Ministry of Health

The incidence of COVID-19 in the Republic of Armenia is showing a trend of increase. The detection and confirmation of new strains is making the situation more concerning, especially with the start of the new school year approaching, according to the Ministry of Health.

In order to confront the next wave, the Ministry of Health is urging vigilance.

To break the chain of the pandemic, prevent the spread of the infection, and keep the situation within controllable limits, the police and regulatory bodies are conducting strict inspections in public spaces and indoor areas starting today.

It is reminded that:

• Wearing masks is mandatory in enclosed spaces,
• Vaccination is an effective means of protection against COVID-19.

At the same time, in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread, the Ministry of Health reiterates the importance of adhering to anti-epidemic rules:

• Wear a mask,
• Maintain hand hygiene, regularly disinfect hands with a 70% alcohol-based disinfectant,
• Maintain social distance,
• Frequently ventilate enclosed spaces.
