Armenia Acquires 200,000 Doses of Chinese ‘Sinopharm’ Vaccine

Armenia has acquired 200,000 doses of the Chinese ‘Sinopharm’ vaccine. This information was shared by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, in a Facebook post.

“Emphasizing the right of our citizens to be protected against the coronavirus, the Ministry of Health has secured a new batch of COVID-19 vaccines through negotiations. The 200,000 doses of the ‘Sinopharm’ vaccine are intended for 100,000 individuals,” Avanesyan wrote.

According to her, the vaccine is available to all citizens aged 18 and over, without restrictions.

It is worth noting that Avanesyan mentioned in a conversation with journalists after the cabinet meeting on July 29 that both ‘Sinopharm’ and the American-German ‘Pfizer’ vaccines would soon be available in Armenia.

In the past day, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Armenia has increased by 357, bringing the total to 235,171.
