Prisoner Found Hanging with a Blanket in Custody Transferred There a Week Earlier: Details

On August 14, 2021, at approximately 07:40, the body of inmate A.S. was discovered hanging by a blanket from the bars in a quarantine cell at the RA Ministry of Justice's "Armavir" penitentiary facility. This was reported by the penitentiary service.

The inmate was accused under Article 139, Part 3, Points 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code (committing violent acts of a sexual nature against a person under 14 by a parent) and was transferred to the "Armavir" penitentiary on July 8, 2021. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and an investigation is underway.
