Which Option for Unblocking Communications is Beneficial for Armenia? Aram Sargsyan Presents His Version

If we can reach the Persian Gulf by railway through Tehran in the case of communication blockade, it will allow Armenia to become a connecting link between European countries and the Persian Gulf, creating security guarantees for us, as around 30-35 European countries will be interested in the stability of the region. This was stated by Aram Sargsyan, the leader of the Democratic Party, during a meeting with journalists on August 13.

“However, if the route from Turkey to Azerbaijan through Nakhichevan opens up, Armenia will once again find itself in a blockade, trapped in the Turkish 'bask'. This would mean that Turkey could implement a predatory policy here through economic means without weapons, as Armenia hinders the realization of the idea of pan-Turkism. After Armenia, Turkey would extend its reach to the North Caucasus and the Volga region, and the consequences could be unpredictable,” he said.

According to him, in today’s conditions, it is impossible to imagine that Armenian goods could cross into Azerbaijan's territory due to communication unblocking. “If people do not understand this, then analytical thinking is either not functioning or is working in the opposite direction,” Aram Sargsyan added.
