Call from the Union of NSS Reserve Officers to Parliament Members

The Union of NSS Reserve Officers has called on parliament members to exercise caution regarding the publication of sensitive information, while recommending that the NSS monitor the current situation under operational control and conduct preventive measures if necessary. This was stated in a public announcement by the union.

The announcement reads: “Since August 2, the first session of the eighth convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia has started its work. Instead of immediately addressing the crucial problems facing the country, parliament members are, in fact, occupied with disclosing and scandalizing materials against each other.

The current authorities, who criminalized the insults to protect their own leader, without any legal basis or evidence, publicly accuse the second president of being involved in the massacre of October 27 and the assassination of the first president of the Nagorno-Karabakh Supreme Council, Arthur Mkrtchyan. Meanwhile, the opposition, without conducting a comprehensive, objective, and complete investigation, accuses the Prime Minister of intentionally surrendering territories and leading the country to peace to the detriment of Armenia. Both the ruling and opposition members are voicing compromising information related to each other's personal lives.

They overlook that their behavior reduces the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia to a subject of ridicule, discredits it, and provides foreign services of enemy countries with information that they would have needed to invest considerable time and resources to obtain covertly. Caught up in PR for their individual selves and teams, they fail to realize that all this is a direct threat to the national security, ranking, and reputation of the Republic of Armenia.

The Union of NSS Reserve Officers urges parliament members to exercise caution regarding data publication, while proposing that the NSS maintain operational oversight of the current situation and conduct preventive measures if necessary.”
