The number of military officials demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation has reached 9. This was reported by Edgar Ghazaryan, the former head of the Constitutional Court's staff, on his Facebook page.
“On August 13, 2021, at the suggestion of Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, issued a decree dismissing another general who had demanded Pashinyan's resignation on February 25, 2021. He is Major General Zhivair Poghosyan, the commander of the 1st Army Corps of the RA Armed Forces. At present, the total of military officials demanding resignation and dismissed has reached 9:
- Chief of the General Staff, Colonel General Onik Gasparyan,
- First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan,
- Head of the Operational Department of the RA Armed Forces General Staff – Deputy Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Karen Abrahamyan,
- Head of the Anti-Aircraft Defense Forces of the RA Armed Forces – Head of the Department, Major General Armen Vardanyan,
- Head of the Engineering Troops of the RA Armed Forces – Head of the Department, Major General Ishkhan Matevosyan,
- Commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the RA Armed Forces, Major General Grigori Khachaturyan,
- Head of the Combat Training Department of the Main Directorate of the RA Armed Forces, Major General Valerik Kocharyan,
- First Deputy Head of the Operational Department of the RA Armed Forces General Staff, Major General Stepan Gevorgyan,
