Nine People Poisoned in Khanzhyan Community of Armavir Province: Criminal Case Initiated
On August 11, 2021, at 23:30, a report was received from the Armavir Medical Center regarding nine residents of the Khanzhyan community in Armavir Province who sought medical help for an intestinal infection of unknown etiology and claimed they had been poisoned by drinking water. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Armavir Regional Investigative Department based on the characteristics of part 1 of Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. To clarify essential circumstances related to the case, water samples have been taken from the homes of the individuals mentioned, and forensic medical and forensic food examinations have been appointed. The investigation is underway, and necessary measures are being taken to thoroughly and comprehensively investigate all circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify the source and causes of the poisoning.
