Parliament Elects Chairs of Permanent Committees

The Parliament has concluded the voting for the chairs of the permanent committees of the National Assembly. The results were summarized by the Chairman of the Audit Committee, Narek Babayan.

Thus, the Chair of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee has been elected as Heriknaz Tigranyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction, with a voting ratio of 71 for and 31 against.

The Chair of the Health Committee has been elected as Narek Zeynalyan, also from the "Civil Contract" faction, with 72 votes in favor and 30 against.

The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee has been elected as Eduard Aghajanyan, yet another member from the "Civil Contract" faction, with 72 votes for and 30 against.

The Chair of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports has been elected as Sisak Gabrielyan, from the same faction, with a voting ratio of 71 for and 29 against.

The Chair of the European Integration Committee has been elected as Arman Yeghoyan, also from the "Civil Contract" faction, with 71 votes in favor and 31 against.

The Chair of the Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs has been elected as Taguhi Tovmasyan from the "I Have Honor" faction, with a voting ratio of 60 for and 42 against.

The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee has been elected as Andranik Kocharyan, from the "Civil Contract" faction, with 70 votes for and 31 against.

The Chair of the State and Legal Affairs Committee has been elected as Vladimir Vardanyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction, with 71 votes in favor and 30 against.

The Chair of the Regional and Eurasian Integration Committee has been elected as Armen Gevorgyan from the "Armenia" faction, with 62 votes for and 40 against.

The Chair of the Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection has been elected as Vahe Qalumyan, from the "Civil Contract" faction, with a voting ratio of 74 for and 26 against.

The Chair of the Economic Issues Committee has been elected as Vahe Hakobyan from the "Armenia" faction, with 59 votes for and 43 against.

The Chair of the Financial and Budgetary Committee has been elected as Gevorg Papoyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction, with 70 votes for and 30 against.

It is noteworthy that some opposition candidates have also received votes from members of the ruling party. It is also mentioned that there will be 12 permanent committees operating in the Parliament, of which 9 will be headed by the ruling "Civil Contract" faction, two by the "Armenia" faction, and one by the "I Have Honor" faction.
