Floods in Turkey Due to Heavy Rainfall

Life in coastal Turkish areas along the Black Sea has come to a standstill due to torrential rains. This is reported by ermenihaber.am.

Specifically, heavy rainfall that started on the evening of August 10 has turned roads in Bartin, Sinop, Samsun, Kastamonu, and Karabuk provinces into ponds, making them impassable for both people and vehicles. In Bartin, water swept away an 80-year-old woman, while an entire hospital in Sinop was evacuated due to floods.

In different provinces, rainwater filled basements of buildings, with floods carrying away numerous vehicles. In the Bahcecek area of Karabuk province, 13 people were injured due to a bridge collapse, with 8 of them being transported to hospitals by ambulances.

The Bartin-Karabuk highway has also collapsed due to the rain. More than twenty citizens trapped in their cars and homes were rescued by local residents and emergency services.
