Broadcasting Ban on Parliamentary Incident Contradicts Articles 42 and 51 of the Constitution: Ioannisyan
Daniel Ioannisyan, the head of the Civic Awareness NGO, made a post on his Facebook page regarding the incident that took place in the National Assembly.
"The ban on reporting and broadcasting what occurs in the National Assembly session hall contradicts Articles 42 and 51 of the Constitution, several provisions of the Law on Mass Media, and the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, and also contains elements of prohibited acts under the Criminal Code. Such manifestations are not seen even in countries that are not democratic or semi-democratic, let alone in those that have undergone a transition from democracy. We will soon discuss the ongoing violations by the leadership of the National Assembly regarding Articles 42 and 51 of the parent law," Ioannisyan wrote.
