VIDEO. Whatever You Find Outside the Declarations Is Yours: Vahe Hakobyan to the Ruling Party MP

What is the secret of your financial success? Today, on August 10, this question was posed to Vahe Hakobyan, an MP from the Armenia bloc, by the ruling party's MP, Sargis Khandanyan.

"We have submitted a declaration of property and income to the CEC. I must admit that your declaration is one of the most impressive in this parliamentary session. Specifically, you have declared an apartment in Alicante, Spain, two apartments on Demirchyan Street, parking spaces, a residential house and land in Vahagni district, several vehicles, property exceeding 8 million drams, and significant cash assets. When we read your biography on the National Assembly's website, we see that from 1997 to 2018 you were in public service, and worked briefly in the private sector. Can you share the secret of your success?" asked Khandanyan.

Vahe Hakobyan responded that the apartments mentioned by Khandanyan were purchased with a loan: "When I left public service, I initially started working on a contractual basis and later became a team member. What is in the declaration is all there is. The two apartments you mentioned are 100 percent financed by loans, and the house in Spain was also purchased with an 80 percent loan. The law enforcement system has been trying to find something for 3 years; whatever you find outside the declarations is yours."
