Civilian Vehicle Damaged in Artsakh Due to Azerbaijani Gunfire
A civilian vehicle was damaged as a result of gunfire from Azerbaijani military personnel towards the village of Mkhtiarashen in Artsakh. The information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by Mkhtiarashen village mayor Mkhtiar Arstamyan.
The press service of the Artsakh Defense Army reported today that between 16:00 and 22:00 on August 9, the adversary violated the ceasefire regime in the southwestern (Shosh-Mkhtiarashen) section. It was noted that in addition to small arms, the Azerbaijani armed forces also used the RN-9 (a fixed anti-tank grenade launcher), firing 3 rounds towards Armenian positions. The Armenian side did not incur any losses.
According to Arstamyan, the gunfire targeted not only the positions of Armenian soldiers but also the village itself, damaging a civilian car; fortunately, there were no casualties. The situation in the village is calm at present. He noted that gunfire from small arms is periodically heard, but larger caliber weapons have been used for the first time in recent months. The nearest Azerbaijani positions are only a few hundred meters away from the village.
