Attempt on the Life of Yerevan Council Member Arman Antonyan, Says Mayor

The health condition of Yerevan Council member Arman Antonyan has shown positive dynamics, as he was transferred to a hospital room yesterday. This statement was made by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan during a council session.

According to him, there has been an assassination attempt on Council member Arman Antonyan, where masked individuals invaded his home, immediately assaulted him, and stabbed him 11 times with a knife.

“By the grace of God, our council member and our colleague did not die, and I would also like to thank the healthcare workers who acted promptly, which is why our friend is alive and well today. He also fought for his life,” said the mayor.

Marutyan announced that he expects the law enforcement agencies and the judicial system to impose the strictest punishment on individuals who engage in such acts to promote their personal interests.

“It is already clear that this attack occurred due to the council member's activities and aimed to resolve certain issues for their own benefit, whereas the council member has made proposals in the course of his activities for the benefit of the community,” the mayor emphasized, noting that all those who attempt to act in this manner will achieve nothing at all, and moreover, what does not kill you makes you stronger.
