VIDEO. Taliban Capture Kunduz City in Afghanistan
The Taliban movement has achieved a significant victory in Afghanistan by capturing the strategically important city of Kunduz, located near the border with Tajikistan. This was reported by The Guardian, noting that the Taliban managed to seize five provincial capitals over the last three days.
Government forces have retreated from Kunduz, causing many residents to flee. Taliban militants have released videos showing the abandoned police station in Kunduz, where employees left behind vehicles, weapons, and equipment.
Following the withdrawal of American and international forces from Afghanistan, the Taliban have established control over much of the rural areas of the country. They are now attempting to capture cities. To assist Afghan government forces, the U.S. has carried out several airstrikes against the Taliban.
