Video: 530 Sheep Struck by Lightning on Abul Mountain

On the evening of August 9, lightning struck a flock of sheep on Abul Mountain in Georgia, resulting in the death of 530 sheep. This was reported by Jnews.ge, which detailed that some of the deceased animals belonged to a local farmer from the village of Tambovka in the Ninotsminda municipality, while others belonged to farmers from Kakheti.

From the village of Tambovka in the Ninotsminda region, Nikolay Levanov owns 600 sheep. The sheep graze on Abul Mountain in the area he owns. Alongside Nikolay's livestock, there are an additional 900 sheep from a farmer in Kakheti grazing in the same vicinity. A non-native shepherd oversees the herd of 1,500 sheep.

On August 9 at around 17:00, the shepherd called Nikolay and informed him that lightning had struck twice, causing the sheep to die. In total, 530 animals were lost, 160 of which belonged to Nikolay. The grazing area is located on a mountain five kilometers away from the village of Tambovka.
