Whom Does Pashinyan Want to Associate With? - "Hraparak"

The newly elected Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, is set to move his family to the government summer residence in the near future. Following his election as Speaker, he received an offer from Prime Minister Pashinyan to relocate.

It is noteworthy that not all officials are permitted to live in these governmental residences. In addition to the Prime Minister, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other senior officials appointed upon the Prime Minister's recommendation and the President of Armenia's decree can also reside there with their families.

However, as a rule, individuals who are invited by Nikol Pashinyan typically move into the residences on Proshyan Street. Simonyan's family will likely reside in the same house where the Pashinyan family lived for a short time after the revolution, before they renovated the residence belonging to Serzh Sargsyan and currently reside there.

Since 2018, only three officials have lived in the government residence: the Prime Minister, the Former Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan, and former head of the NSS Artur Vanetsyan upon the Prime Minister's recommendation. Also, Ararat Mirzoyan's family continues to reside in the government residence, and seemingly will not leave, as there are rumors that Mirzoyan is to be appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs soon. Even if he moves to another position, he could remain in the residence at Pashinyan's suggestion, as Mirzoyan has yet to overcome the incident of November 9 and feels secure in the preserved summer residence.
