New Decision: Advertising on Electronic Platforms to Be Taxed
The government approved today a draft amendment to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia concerning electronic services, which stipulates that advertising placed on electronic platforms, directed at individuals, will also be taxed moving forward. It is noted that a definition of 'electronic service' will be added to the Tax Code.
Rustam Badasyan, the newly appointed head of the State Revenue Committee, mentioned during the government session that the absence of this regulation in the Tax Code was leading to a loss of revenue for the state budget. He added that the taxation will also apply to online advertisements.
