Azerbaijan Disrupts Local Radio Frequencies in Artsakh: Prosecutor's Office

The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Artsakh reported that in March, it received information from the director of "Mix Media" LLC, stating that the radio frequencies legally used by the company were being disrupted by an unidentified source in the territory of Artsakh.

According to the Prosecutor's Office of Artsakh, a criminal case has been initiated based on this report. During the preliminary investigation, specialists from the relevant professional institution measured several frequencies in the 'FM' radio spectrum. According to their conclusions, there is a repeating signal every 3 seconds and 7 seconds in the 87-100 MHz 'FM' range coming from the direction of the Askeran region, which disrupts local frequencies and interferes with their uninterrupted operation.

"The preliminary investigation of the criminal case also confirmed that the aforementioned jamming signal is activated on a new frequency even when the frequency wave is changed by the user of the corresponding radio frequency in Artsakh. This indicates that the Azerbaijani side is deliberately attempting to obstruct the public's right to information in Artsakh while also causing property damage to economic entities," the statement said.

Information regarding the circumstances established in this criminal case has been communicated to both the relevant authorities of the Republic of Artsakh and the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh.
