Abrahamyan: There Was a Previous Order Not to Shoot, Resulting in What Happened in Syunik and Gegharkunik

Member of the National Assembly’s "Honorary Title" faction Tigran Abrahamyan has responded to the Minister of Defense's announcement yesterday.

“I still do not understand why such discussions arose regarding the minister's order to open fire. The strange and unacceptable aspect was that there was a contrary order not to shoot. As a result, we know what happened in the areas of Syunik and Gegharkunik. They had forgotten that for 2-3 months they boasted that there were no battles or skirmishes at the border—that they conceded Armenian territories without a single shot being fired. Every soldier in the army I know, from the private to the officer, knows that if there is an immediate attack on a position, then action must be taken—fire must be opened. They say there is now an order to shoot. The time will come, and we will still clarify why and for what purpose the order not to shoot was in effect back then,” he stated.
