Wave of Price Increases in the Meat Market: Current Prices

According to the "Joughour" newspaper, the price of pork in Armenia has risen to 4,000 drams. For instance, the price of one kilogram of pork minced meat has increased from 3,700 drams to 4,000 drams, while one kilogram of pork shoulder has gone up from 2,900 drams to 3,100 drams.

Additionally, it is reported that the volume of pork production in Armenia has decreased by 3.4% from January to May this year. Experts cite this decrease as the reason for the rise in pork prices. Furthermore, the import of pigs last year was less than in 2019.

At the same time, beef prices have also risen, with one kilogram of beef increasing from 2,900 drams to 3,000 drams, and lamb meat now exceeding 4,500 drams per kilogram.

On the other hand, sheep meat production has seen growth, with volumes increasing by 5.1% from January to May of this year. However, despite this rise in production, sheep meat continues to be sold at high prices.
