Syrian Airline to Resume Weekly Flights from Aleppo to Yerevan

The Syrian airline has announced the resumption of weekly flights from Aleppo to Yerevan. Ajnehat al-Sham has declared the reinstatement of the Aleppo-Yerevan-Aleppo route.

In a conversation with Armenpress, the editor-in-chief of the Ghandzasar newspaper, Zarmine Chilaboshyan-Pogikyan, stated that this marks the first time since the Syrian war that a regular direct flight from Aleppo to Yerevan is being reinstated. Prior to this, those wishing to travel from Aleppo to Yerevan had to depart from Damascus. Likewise, returning from Yerevan to Aleppo also required a stop at Damascus Airport.

If flights are resumed in September, there will be an opportunity to travel directly from Aleppo to Armenia. It is expected that there will be an increase in passenger traffic between Aleppo and Yerevan.

Aleppo Airport is gradually restoring its routes to the international market. Initially, domestic flights were being conducted within the country.
